Once again, we are in the tail end of the year, and once again, I am surprised to find that despite being utterly antisocial, we are booked every single weekend. It's my favorite time of year, much as I complain about it being hectic and tiring.
It all started this past weekend, when the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who reached its frenzied pinnacle and we had NeighborGirl over along with two of the Young Prince's friends for the big event. That was followed up with a big-screen viewing on Monday. I was quite happy with the show; so many nice little shout-outs, including one to Ian Chesterton that I missed until I saw it on the big screen. And of course the cameo at the end made me so, so happy. I sort of want to go back and watch all those old episodes now. Revisit my childhood. Well, my teenhood.
This week is Thanksgiving and a Hanukkah party. A tentative plan to meet Ex-Boss for drinks one day next week. Next weekend is the Wolf Trap singalong. The one after that is Cookiefest, and the two after THAT are in the Midwest. And then we are into signing up for summer camps, because of course that's what everyone thinks about in January....
It's good that the weekends are full, because otherwise I'd have nothing to share here. Work goes along uneventfully for the grownups, the YP seems to be swimming through school with no damage, the house is still standing. Which means there's nothing for it but to write, write, write on my book. Any forward gear, and all that.
