And then there were none. I'm stopping by the vet's on my way home to sign forms and send the cat off to the Chinese Children, as my grandfather likes to euphemise. Blargh. I can't wait to see the bill. A thousand-dollar dead cat. Oh, well, at least the ground isn't frozen and I can bury her beside the $800-for-a-single-pointless-procedure dead dog.
So all those little bits of carbon-based string from the days before I knew NYAB are just memories. I guess my car is pretty much the last vestige of my Young and Stupid California Period. Eh. That's probably just as well.
And we are an utterly petless household. I don't think I will find that acceptable for very long.
Spose it's time to see if the docs will give the YP dog-shots yet to curb his allergies?
Or maybe NYAB will bring me a brand new mouser in a heart-shaped box?? Or will I have to wait until my birthday?
Or maybe we should get a pig. The neighbor on one side has a horse and the pie-eyed woman across the street keeps threatening to get chickens.... but I don't think I could have a pig, as I am far too fond of bacon.
Thoughts?
Well, if you need emergency puppy love, I can come out with the Puppicasso (doesn't shed much) hopefully YP wouldn't need the dog shots. And on the pig front, there are always guinea ones.
I know what it is like to have the petless household and it is a sad one, so I hope you guys get some kind of fuzzball into your lives soon.

a pig would be fun! or a hedgehog!
in the end, go for something traditional and boring I guess, like a puppy or a kitten...

So sorry to hear about Shays (even if she never liked me, I did like her!). I have fond memories of the Young and Stupid California Period. Hell, I still miss Whiskey.
Anyway, maybe a ferret? Whatever you get, better be something that can kill bats, yes? Corgis might be so inclined, too.

I have fond memories of your carbon-based strings, and I'm sad to hear that they've all gone off to the farm. Though Shays and Gats, at least, had long eventful lives.
After watching this video, I vote for a miniature pig. http://www.metacafe.com/fplayer/2346868/kingsford_goes_to_the_beach.swf
