½ c shortening
1 c sugar
1 egg
1 t vanilla
1-1/2 c flour
1/3 c cocoa
½ t baking soda
½ t salt
¼ c milk
Cream shortening, sugar, egg, and vanilla in large bowl. Combine dry ingredients and add to wets alternately with milk. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased sheet; bake at 375 for 11-12 minutes, or just until soft-set. Do not overbake. Cool 1 minute, remove from sheets and cool completely on wire racks. Prepare crème filling, Spread bottom of one cookie with 1 T filling cover with another cookie.
Crème filling
2 T butter, softened
2 T shortening
½ c marshmallow cream
¾ t vanilla
2/3 c powdered sugar
Cream butter and shortening in small bowl; beat in marshmallow crème. Blend in vanilla and sugar, beat to spreading consistency.
