1t plus 1 c butter
1 c sugar
1 c dark corn syrup
14-oz can sweetened condensed milk
1 t vanilla
Line an 8-inch square pan with foil, grease the foil with 1 t butter and set aside.
In a large heavy saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup and butter, bring to boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Boil slowly for 4 min without stirring.
Remove from heat. Stir in milk. Reduce heat to medium-low and cook until soft-ball stage (238 degrees) stirring constantly. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
Pour into prepared pan. (Do not scrape saucepan.) Cool. Using the foil, lift the candy out of the pan. Discard foil and cut candy into 1-inch squares. Wrap in waxed paper and twist ends.
