1-1/2 c sifted flour
1 t baking soda
1 t ground cinnamon
1 c butter
1/2 c firmly packed light brown sugar
1 c sugar
1 egg
1 t vanilla
1-1/2 c old fashioned rolled oats
1 c chocolate chips
Mix flour, baking soda and cinnamon. Cream together butter and sugars until fluffy. Add egg and vanilla. At low speed, beat in flour until blended. Fold in oats and chocolate chips. Cover with plastic wrap and chill one hour.
Shape dough into 1" balls, place 1" apart on greased cookie sheet. Flatten each cookie slightly. Bake until lightly browned around edges, 10 to 12 minutes. Cool slightly while on sheets. Transfer cookies to racks to cool completely.
