But it was still nearly overwhelming. I have been on the run since 7 or 8 a.m. every day and haven't made it home before 9 p.m. once. Hence the no-post.
(Plus, I have been plagued with bug bites. I thought they were chigger bites. Some of them probably are, but I keep getting new ones despite not having been outdoors since Sunday -- which makes me think there must be fleas in our office or something. As of this writing, I have 21 bites on one leg and 13 on the other, plus 16 on one arm and 13 -- again -- on the other. And four on my neck. And they ALL itch. It's hard to type for fun when all you want to do is dive into a vat of cortisone cream.)
Today, NYAB is sick, and looked scary enough at first that I opted to stay home and monitor him -- somehow the words "I feel wrong and I can't find my balance" are enough to merit concern in my brain -- so the YP and I are hanging close to the homestead. NYAB is looking closer to normal now, enough so that I might venture into town to pick up my laptop later. I have a feeling I will be suspected of using his sickness to coattail my own day off. Of course, anyone who really suspects that has never spent the day locked in a house with a healthy 4-year-old boy and an ailing 40-coughcough-year-old man...
I have deep and provocative posts cooking in my brain. Maybe I'll get one sussed out over the weekend. Or maybe I'll just take pictures of trees and post those. Either way, more next week.
Meep...maybe I've been reading about them too much lately, but I wonder if bed bugs could possibly be the culprit, too, if the fleas theory doesn't pan out?
Feel better, NYAB!

Eww! Are you saying I'm a slovenly housekeeper??? Either way, I'm pretty sure it's not bedbugs. For one thing, I've been religiously inspecting the bed (and cat, and me,) for fleas -- and haven't seen anything crawling around at all. For another, they'd have to be awfully choosy critters, since I'm the only one being bitten. NYAB is unscathed.
